Application window closed last week; staff and school board to review 29 candidates

The St. Helens School District will begin reviewing applications for two open principal positions at St. Helens High and Middle schools submitted to the district. The application window recently closed and the district received 29 applications — 12 for the high school position and 17 for the middle school position. While the district still needs to review applications and conduct a series of interview panels, Superintendent Scot Stockwell said the district hopes to fill the positions before spring break at the end of March. The two open positions at the schools are currently staffed by interim principals selected at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.
