Pins or forfeits decide all but two matches

The St. Helens Lions picked up a Northwest Oregon Conference dual wrestling match win on Thursday, topping Parkrose 45-28.

All but two bouts in the match were decided by pin or forfeit. The Lions got the best of the mat, coming from down four points at 170 pounds to win the last four weights.

'Gabe Farmer did an outstanding job against a pretty good wrestler,' St. Helens coach Mike McCoy said. 'He won a close match. The team competed well.'

Farmer's 6-3 decision helped St. Helens secure the win. Pins for the Lions were recorded by Andrew Duggan, Jon Luttrell, Jerek Pense, Josh Bailey, and Nick Rohrig.

The Lions were at a Forest Grove Tournament on Saturday and will host Liberty this Wednesday night. They go to Rex Putnam next Thursday.
