HAPPY DAYS: St. Helens Elks will celebrate classic cars and collectors at 10th Cruise-In
Classic cars and their collectors will have the times of their lives at the 10th St. Helens Elks Lodge Cruise-In.
The free public event will benefit the Elks Children's Eye Clinic at the Oregon Health & Science University Casey Eye Institute in Portland and is scheduled for 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at 350 Belton Road in St. Helens.
"On a personal note, my 4-year-old granddaughter Frankie has been seen at the Elks Children's Eye Clinic," said Linda McDougle, an active St. Helens Elks member and chaplain from 2014-2016. "The professional communication, practice and standards were comforting to our family while the diagnosis returned favorable, many are not so fortunate. We Elks support, donate and stand proud as supporters of the Oregon Elks Children's Eye Clinic. ... Our St. Helens Elks lodge is over 650 members strong. Simply put, Elks care, Elks share."
Vehicle registration is $15 before July 27 or $20 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the gate.
The first 100 entries receive dash plaques, and trophies, raffle prizes will be given every half-hour.
Cars will be judged from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., and awards will be presented at 2 p.m.
The St. Helens Elks Veterans Committee, will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m., and its proceeds will go to the Veterans Bunker.
The beer garden opens at 11 a.m., a barbecue lunch runs from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and dinner is available from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
