Meanwhile Planning Manager Julie Hajduk is named community development director

The city of Sherwood has promoted its community development director to assistant city manager.

Tom Pessemier was named to the position Monday by City Manager Joe Gall.

“This will be an important position in the coming years and will allow me to focus upon important projects such as the development of a strategic plan for our organization in 2013,” Gall wrote in an email to employees. “Tom’s portfolio of responsibilities will include community development, urban renewal, and economic development, as well as special projects and initiatives.”

Pessemier served as community development director for four years and was named interim city manager in October 2011 after the departure of City Manager Jim Patterson.

Meanwhile, the city’s planning director, Julia Hajduk, has been named as the new community development director. Hajduk has worked for the city for more than 7 years.

“I am excited to see both of these professionals within our organization grow and develop in their respective new roles over the coming months and years,” said Gall.
