Kevin McIntosh named to the position

Sherwood School District recently named Kevin McIntosh as Sherwood Middle School’s new associate principal, replacing Michael Fisher.

Originally from Oregon, McIntosh returned to the state after working in Park City, Utah, where he earned the highest recommendations by his peers and colleagues.Kevin McIntosh

McIntosh has 18 years of experience in combined instructional careers as a middle school associate principal and secondary social studies/humanities teacher.

“I am honored to be the new associate principal and will continue and help improve upon the wonderful tradition of excellence in education at Sherwood Middle School and the Sherwood School District as a whole,” said McIntosh.

With over 85 applications and 10 candidate interviews for consideration by the hiring committee, comprised of both students and staff, McIntosh stood out among other applicants with his authentic desire to impact the development of children and his talent for guiding young people toward achievement in their personal and academic pursuits, according to district officials.

“It was evident through the interview process that Kevin has a passion for the middle school level and a commitment to the success of students and staff,” said Sherwood Middle School Principal Marianne Funderhide. “This was one of many reasons he rose to the top of a strong candidate pool.”

Superintendent Heather Cordie said she was looking forward the addition of McIntosh to the district.

“Kevin encourages strong relationships and team collaboration and we are very fortunate to have him on our team,” she said.
