First GBS/CIDP Walk & Roll set for Tigard's Cook Park Sunday
Oregon's first Walk & Roll for GBS/CIDP is set from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Sept. 17, at Cook Park in Tigard.
The Walk & Roll is a one-mile walk and community celebration to raise awareness and rally support for those battling GBS (Guillain-Barre Syndrome), CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy), MMN (multifocal motor neuropathy) and its variants.
When I learned about this event taking place in other cities across the country,it became a priority to bring the Walk & Roll to Oregon. Participation is free and open to the entire family.
In addition to the walk, there will be a raffle, music and entertainment provided by the Sherwood High School Arrows and cheerleaders. I'd also like to thank our two sponsors, Sherwood Dutch Bros and Senestraro Orthodontics, who have so generously supported the Walk & Roll and are getting us that much closer to our goal.
Since being diagnosed in 2016 with GBS, I have made it my mission to spread awareness and bring support to the patients and their families who fight this terrifying illness.
I hope to see as many of you as possible on Sunday, Sept. 17, when we kick off the state's first Walk & Roll for GBS/CIDP.
