FOREST GROVE — The Sherwood Federal level baseball team, featuring players in the Class of 2016, just seems to keep right on rolling.

Back in late July, the team rolled to a championship.

The Sherwood Senior Federal squad, going 4-0 in tournament play, powered its way to first place at the Junior Baseball Organization state tournament, which ended July 29 at Pacific University’s Sherman-Larkins Stadium.

The Sherwood team, which went 19-2 in league play, opened the JBO tournament with a win over West Linn in a winners’ bracket quarterfinal game on July 26. The next day, Sherwood bested Westview in the semifinal round.

Sherwood then downed Barlow in the winners’ bracket final on July 28. Then, in the July 29 championship contest, Sherwood bested West Linn 7-0 to claim the SUBMITTED PHOTO - SHERWOOD CHAMPS -- The Sherwood Senior Federal baseball team went 4-0 in play at the JBO state tournament.

The same Sherwood group won the Junior Federal state tournament crown in 2010 and, prior to that, placed second in the 2008 Midget Federal state tourney.

Members of the team are Lukas Adams, Cameron Clem, Alex Dalebroux, Tanner Dillree, Keaton Flannery, Jess Hatfield, Michael Robelli, Adley Rutschman, Austin Shadbolt, Rylan Thomas, Jared Urbach and Brendon Wexted.

Aaron Flannery is the team’s head coach. The assistant coaches are Jered Dillree, Randy Rutschman and Brad Clem.
