Sherwood beats St. Helens, Parkrose to move to 3-0

The Sherwood High School boys basketball team is still perfect in Northwest Oregon Conference play.

The Bowmen moved to 3-0 in conference games by scoring a 43-35 home win over St. Helens on Friday and following that up with an 87-44 victory at Parkrose on Tuesday.

With the two wins, Sherwood upped its overall record to 10-2.

In Friday’s game with St. Helens, Sherwood trailed the Lions by one going into the fourth quarter before rallying for the victory.

Senior post Jordan Kurahara led the Bowmen in scoring in that win with 12 points. Senior wing Lucas Johnson and junior wing Ben Milligan added 10 points apiece.

Milligan paced Sherwood win Tuesday’s win at Parkrose with 18 points. Johnson added 17 points, Kurahara had 16 and junior point guard Evan Kitto scored 13.

Sherwood will be back in action Friday when it hosts Sandy in a conference game starting at 7:15 p.m. On Tuesday, the Bowmen will be home to face Milwaukie at 7:15 p.m.
