Volunteers sought to paddle around the Northeast Portland wetlands to help beautify the area; no canoe needed

COURTESY COLUMBIA SLOUGH WATERSHED COUNCIL  - Volunteers at a past Columbia Slough clean-up. Want to paddle around the peaceful Columbia Slough while helping to clean it up? The Columbia Slough Watershed Council hosts its eighth-annual Great Slough Clean-Up on Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants can bring their own boat or use the council's bimaran canoes, or stay on land to sort trash.

Boats, gloves, refreshments, and slough mud provided free, for volunteers 14 and up. To learn more and register:
