Boring business payroll tax ended Jan. 1

The fact that TriMet has allowed Boring to opt out of the transit district means that Boring businesses do not owe payroll tax after Tuesday, Jan. 1.

The transit service is no longer available in the Boring and Kelso areas. Instead, the service became the Powell Valley/Orient Drive Line 84, with improved service.

The Line 84 bus now travels between the Gresham Transit Center and the intersection of 282nd Avenue and Orient Drive in east Gresham.

The line continues to operate weekdays only during the morning and evening commutes, but service is improving. Buses will run approximately every half-hour rather than every hour.
