Circuit Court jurors in Portland have awarded no money to the estate of a 17-year-old Sandy girl who died after hitting a tree while snowboarding at Mt. Hood Skibowl in 2012.

Jurors deliberated for less than three hours before finding 9-3 on Friday that Skibowl was not at fault in the death of Taylur DeWolf.

Her parents argued that Skibowl operated a dangerous run and was negligent in failing to place warning poles along a particularly dangerous edge of the run near the tree the girl hit.

When the trial started last week, the estate was seeking more than $4.6 million.

Skibowl said the girl was snowboarding beyond her abilities and moving far too fast.
