by: PARKER LEE - GETTING READY -- The Sherwood boys basketball team gathers prior to the opening tip of Friday's game at Sandy.MILWAUKIE — The Sherwood High boys basketball team took on the best of the Northwest Oregon Conference in back-to-back games.

And the Bowmen came up just short each time.

Sherwood fell 60-53 at Sandy on Friday and then the Bowmen lost 59-46 to Milwaukie in a game played Tuesday at Milwaukie High School.

The Bowmen fell to 8-6 on the season and to 3-2 in NWOC games with the losses. Sandy and Milwaukie are tied for league lead, both with 5-0 records in NWOC play.

Senior guard Jordan Skoubo led Sherwood in scoring in Tuesday’s loss at Milwaukie with 11 points. Junior post Jordan Kurahara added 10 points and sophomore guard Jacob Spurgeon had nine points.

The Bowmen will be back in action Friday when they host rival Wilsonville in a league game set to start at 7:15 p.m. at Sherwood High School.
