The Wolves beat McMinnville to move to 3-0

McMINNVILLE — The Tualatin High School girls cross country team stayed perfect in Pacific Conference meets by scoring a 22-39 win over McMinnville in a conference dual meet held Sept. 25 at Joe Dancer Park.

With the victory, the Tualatin girls moved to 3-0 in league meets.

Junior Joslyn Gastiaburu led the way for the Timberwolves at last week’s meet. She finished in second place, individually, with a time of 21 minutes, 34.16 seconds for the 5,000-meter race.

Gastiaburu was followed closely by a bunch of her Tualatin teammates.

Timberwolf freshman Katie Intile finished third with a mark of 21:40.83 and senior Emma Fanger was fourth at 22:29.30.

The Tualatin boys were edged 27-28 by McMinnville at last week’s meet. With the one-point loss, the Wolves moved to 2-1 in conference meets.

Junior Matthew Lovos paced the Tualatin boys at the meet. He placed second with a time of 17:00.91. Tualatin sophomore Mark French was third at 17:07.85 and senior Tyler Snyder ran to fourth place at 17:29.40.
