Sherwood shuts down Glencoe to improve its record to 3-0

HILLSBORO — In a battle of unbeaten teams, it was the Sherwood High School girls basketball squad that emerged with its record unscathed.

The Lady Bowmen stayed perfect on the early season by scoring a 37-32 win over Glencoe in a non-league game played Tuesday at Glencoe High School.

With the victory, Sherwood moved to 3-0 on the season, while the Crimson Tide dropped to 4-1 with the setback.

Senior forward Jaelyn Funk led the Lady Bowmen in the win with 15 points. Senior Mallory Shields added eight points and junior Jennah Stobie scored six points.

Prior to the win at Glencoe, Sherwood scored a 36-29 win over Camas, Wash., in a game played Monday at Camas.

Shields paced Sherwood in that victory with 13 points. Funk added 10 points.

The Lady Bowmen will be back in action Friday when they play at Jesuit in a non-league game starting at 7:15 p.m. at Jesuit High School.
