Tualatin tips Forest Grove to move to 6-2 in league

FOREST GROVE — Don’t look now, but here come the Timberwolves.

The Tualatin High School boys basketball team picked up its fifth straight win by edging Forest Grove 55-52 in a Pacific Conference game played Tuesday at Forest Grove High.

With the victory, Tualatin improved to 6-2 in conference play (10-8 overall), putting the Wolves all alone in second place in the conference standings, two games behind first-place Tigard. Forest Grove fell to 5-3 in conference and to 12-6 on the season with the setback.

Sophomore Luke Osborn led a balanced Tualatin scoring attack in the win at Forest Grove with 15 points. Junior Jacob Bennett and senior Joey Fishback added 14 points apiece.

Prior to the victory at Forest Grove, the Wolves notched a 61-46 win over Glencoe in a conference game played Friday at Tualatin High School.

Bennett poured in 28 points in that win. Sophomore Danté Reid had 13 points and senior Brandon Shroyer had seven.

The Wolves will be back in action on Friday when they face rival Tigard in a game set to start at 7:15 p.m. at Tigard High School.
