As an award winner, DeConinck, a 1964 graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School, joins a stellar group of hundreds of Catholic school alumni across the country.

DeConinck continues to set an excellent example of how Catholic schools educate people to take active roles in their faith community, according to a press release from Sacred Heart. The press release continues that Sacred Heart Catholic School is honored to add DeConinck to the list of Distinguished Graduates. “He is truly a great role model, not only for his family, but to our students today,” it reads.

DeConinck was born in Woodburn and has lived in the Gervais area his entire life. Four generations of his family has attended Sacred Heart Catholic School: His father, Ron and his three sisters, his three daughters, and today he has two grandchildren attending, Dylan and Morgan Cuff.

When DeConinck attended Sacred Heart Catholic School he proudly served as an altar server. He continues to be involved in Sacred Heart-St. Louis Parish today. He is a long-standing member of the Parish’s Administrative Council. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

NCEA established the Distinguished Graduate Award out of recognition that the significant accomplishments of Catholic elementary school alumni are a hallmark of Catholic education. The award highlights “people who as adults put into practice the values and ideals they learned in their Catholic elementary schools. The first Distinguished Graduate Awards for Sacred Heart Catholic School began in the 2005-06 school year.
