by: PHIL HAWKINS - Trojan senior Ty Sawyer was one of 11 Kennedy selections on the Tri-River Conferences all-league teams that were announced last week. Sawyer joins teammates Carl Hesse, Blake Traeger, Daniel Glaede and Sam Moreno as First Team honorees.  In total, Kennedy garnered 17 all-league selections this season.Kennedy and Regis dominated the Tri-River football standings this season, so it’s no surprise that the?Trojans and Rams received the most attention when it came to awarding all-league honors last week.

The league champion Rams picked up the most awards, but the Trojans were not far behind with 11 athletes named to the first, second and honorable mention teams.

Leading the way for Kennedy were seniors Blake Traeger, Daniel Glaede and Sam Moreno, who were all tabbed as First Team selections on offense and defense.

Other two-way players who were honored include Ty Sawyer (First Team offense, Second Team defense), Kyle Manning (Second Team offense, Honorable Mention defense) and Wyatt Rodriguez (Honorable Mention offense, Honorable Mention defense).

Quarterback Noah Giberson was a First Team selection on offense, while freshman Jack Suing was an Honorable Mention for his play on the defensive line. Giberson and Suing were the only two Kennedy players named to the all-conference teams who were not seniors.

Rounding out Kennedy’s award winners were First Team kicker Carl Hesse, Honorable Mention defensive lineman Cole Galtes and Second Team offensive lineman Max Jaeger.
