VINCENT - The redesigned 2015 Chrysler 200 was brought to Portland by factory representatives who said the midsize was their most important new car.Chrysler representatives introduced the 2015 Chrysler 200 to regional automotive writers in Portland on June 17, calling it their most important car since the company joined with Fiat and emerged from bankruptcy.

The all-new Chrysler 200 competes in the hotly-contested affordable family car market against such big sellers as the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. It replaces a car with the same name that was long considered out of date. The new version, which is just beginning to arrive in showrooms, is more aggressively styled and features a larger and more refined interior, upgraded engine choices, a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission, and available all-wheel-drive.

VINCENT - The interior of the 2015 Chrysler 200 is a vast improvement over last year's model.Prices range from around $23,000 for an LX version with a four-four cylinder nine and front-wheel-drive to more than $34,000 for a fully-equipped C model with a V-6 and AWD. Limited and S trim models are priced in between.

Many of the latest technical and safety features are either standard or available in option packages, including an 8.4-inch touchscreen for the GPS-based navigation system, audio system and settings control.

The Chrylser representatives were confident the 2015 Chrysler 200 can go head-to-head against similarly-priced midsize cars, although most competitors have been upgrading their models in recent years, too.
