The Arts Council of Lake Oswego wishes to introduce the public to some new friends, namely the 15 new sculptures in the city’s nationally acclaimed public art program, the Gallery Without Walls.

The new sculptures have been installed throughout the downtown area, and they were unveiled in a ceremony Aug. 21.

This year’s slogan, Sharing Art Through Generations, was intended to recognize the unique relationships and creative excellence that can arise when people of all ages come together for artistic pursuits.

This year’s slate of sculptures includes the works of Huberto Maestas and his grandson, Amyas Maestas, and Brian Hutsebout, who apprenticed with Mike Suri, a veteran of the Gallery Without Walls program.

All new sculptures are on loan for two years and are part of the exhibit of more than 70 sculptures found throughout Lake Oswego. The Gallery Without Walls is free and accessible year-round.

To schedule a docent-led tour, contact the Arts Council of Lake Oswego at 503-675-3738 or pick up a Walking Tour brochure at the Arts Council offices, located at 510 First St. in Lake Oswego.
