Productions are Nov. 3

Missoula Children’s Theatre will produce “The Tortoise Versus the Hare” at Rosemont Ridge Middle School with students from Rosemont, Three Rivers Charter School, Trillium Creek Primary School and Cedaroak Park Primary School.

MCT is the nation’s largest touring children’s theater and will visit more than 800 communities this year with 25 teams of actors and directors. The professionals will bring a set, lights, costumes, props and makeup — everything it takes to put on a play.

Students can audition on Oct. 29 at 3:45 p.m. in the commons at Rosemont Ridge Middle School. No advance preparation is needed for auditions. Approximately 60 students will be cast and will rehearse Monday through Friday, Oct. 29 through Nov. 2, after school for two to four hours.

A few students will be cast as assistant directors who help with costumes, lines, lighting and other behind-the-scene jobs and will not appear on stage until the curtain call.

Dress rehearsal will be Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Productions will be held at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Students cast need to be available for all rehearsals and performances during the week.
