Next regular meeting is Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.

The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board met Sept. 23 to discuss changes to the school district’s assessment plan and board goals, although no decisions were reached during the meeting.

RhoadesSuperintendent Bill Rhoades presented options as the district moves from the OAKS test to Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium standardized tests, under Common Core State Standards.

Additional testing could provide timely feedback on student performance, he said.

Rhoades also asked the board to retain two goals, related to raising student achievement and aligning stystems of accountability, from 2012-13. Board members raised few objections to keeping those goals.

Assessment and goals likely will be on the agenda again when the school board meets Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. for a regular scheduled meeting at the district’s building at 22210 SW Stafford Road. School board meetings are open to the public.
