Eat, explore and learn with CREST
The Center for Research in Environmental Technologies (CREST) has another exciting round of Learning on the Go field trips for West Linn-Wilsonville families.
Farm Fun is Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students in grades 2-4. During this field trip students will pick produce, make food and learn about where it comes from.
Walk on the Wild Side will also be Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for students in grades 2-5.
Students will explore wildlife at local natural areas and parks. Other field trips in October include picking, eating and preserving apples from the CREST Orchard and harvesting items from CREST Farm.
All of these field trips are offered on non-school days.
Host family opportunity for community
The ASSE International Student Exchange Program is looking for local families to host boys and girls between ages 15 and 18 from various countries — Norway, Denmark and Spain, to name a few.
The exchange students have spending money for personal expenses and health, accident and liability insurance.
Host families can choose students from a variety of backgrounds, countries and personal interests.
To become an ASSE host family or to find out how to become involved with ASSE, call the ASSE Western Regional Office at 1-800-733-2773 or go to www.host.asse.com to fill out an application.
