by: VERN UYETAKE - A giant hole was made in the post office on Fourth Street when a car crashed into it on Monday morning. No one was injured in the accident.An out-of-control pickup truck crashed into the post office at the intersection of Fourth Street and B Avenue in Lake Oswego on Monday morning.

Postmaster Lance Shaver said the accident occurred when a driver was moving into a parking space on the west side of the post office building and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The crash happened at 10 a.m.

Heavy damage was done to fiber glass panels and aluminum on the side of the building. No dollar amount on the damage has yet been estimated. Plywood was placed over the gaping hole in the building.

There were no injuries, although one letter carrier was checked for a possible injury. Some customers were left shaken up following the accident.
