Marco Pineda has been named tennis professional at Mountain Park Racquet & Fitness Club in Lake Oswego.MARCO PINEDA

Pineda, 31 and a Lake Oswego resident, brings 10 years of teaching experience with a strong background in coaching competitive juniors and recreational adult tennis players.

"Marco brings great knowledge, energy and passion to our team," said MPRFC Director of Tennis Roger McKee. "As a collegiate and professional tennis player, he will be a great asset to our tennis staff."

Pineda played Division 1 college tennis at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., from 2004-07. In 2007, he was awarded All-West Coast Conference accolades, with 23 singles wins in his senior season. Pineda was also named to the WCC All-Academic team, as well as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Scholar Athlete in 2007. He earned a Master's Degree in Sports & Athletics Administration from Gonzaga in 2010.

Pineda is certified USPTA Elite 1 by the United States Professional Tennis Association, and has been coaching at Lewis & Clark College since 2012.
