The team falls one game short of a World Series berth and compiles a 30-4-1 record

The young Lions won their first four games of the tournament, including a 12-10 victory over Lakeridge in the semifinals, to advance to the championship game, where they fell to Kennewick, Wash., by a score of 14-2.

The loss meant West Linn had narrowly missed out on a trip to the 9U World Series, but the Lions nonetheless finshed off an impressive summer, which included an overall record of 30-4-1. Henry Curdy and Brody Meyer led the way offensively for West Linn at the regional, compiling nine hits apiece in five games, while Grady Selander shined on the mound, surrendering just three earned runs in seven innings throughout the tournament.
