Liberty High School’s choir program will present its spring choir concert, “Journeys,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, in the Liberty High School auditorium. The concert will feature the Liberty High and Poynter Middle School choirs.

Admission is free and the concert is open to the public. Liberty High School is located at 21945 N.W. Wagon Way.

Also on May 28, the Century High School band program will hold its end of the year concert and awards night at 7 p.m. in the Century High School auditorium. Century is located at 2000 S.E. Century Blvd.

Hillsboro teacher wins OnPoint award

Brookwood Elementary School teacher Barbara Nasewytewa won “educator of the year” in the OnPoint Community Credit Union Prize for Excellence in Education contest Tuesday. She teaches fifth grade.

The fourth annual contest honors local educators who work to inspire enthusiasm and creativity in the classroom and have made an impact on students and their families.

Nasewytewa wins $1,000 for her school and will have her mortgage paid for one year by OnPoint Community Credit Union.

First-grade teacher Robin Davies, who teaches at Farmington View Elementary School, was a finalist. She receives a $500 cash award and $500 for her school.
