Results from Liberty High School tournament
Wilsonville competed in the Liberty Invitational tournament on Saturday, Dec. 16 and came out of it with some positive results.
Last years state finalist Perry Rodenbeck dominated his bracket, winning four straight matches at 170 pounds. After a bye in the first round, Rodenbeck pinned McMinnville's Noah Spencer, Pendleton's Ian Bannister at just 26 seconds, and decisioned McNary's Brayden Ebbs to reach the finals. In the final round, Rodenbeck defeated Clackamas's Ethan Edgerly by technical fall 16-1 to take first place.
At 106 pounds, Wilsonville's Adzel Villanueva won four out of his five matches, two by way of pin. At 152 pounds, Tyson Resko pinned four of his opponents, while succumbing to a decision against McMinnville's Noah Wachsmuth.
At 126 pounds, Isaac Quesada won third place with a 5-4 decision over Hood River Valley's Ryan Zeller.
