Schools offer Listserv reminder

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District reminds families to update their Listserv subscriptions to reflect any transitions to new schools children will be attending in the fall. Use the district’s Listserv self-service option at to add or change subscriptions.

Apply now for free and reduced-price school lunch

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District qualifies for the National School Lunch Program, a federally funded, confidential program to supplement meals for children. If a family quaifies for the meal program, students are eligible to receive balanced, nutritious meals on school days.

Families must reapply for the benefit each school year. To avoid delays, the district asks families to apply for the 2013-14 school year as soon as possible, as a rush of applications is expected in September. Information and printable applications are available at

Host families needed for exchange students

ASSE International Student Exchange Programs is seeking local host families for international high school students from 15 to 18 years old. The personable and academically selected exchange students are conversant in English and eager to learn about the United States by living as part of a family and attending the local high school. Students also will share their own culture and language with their host families.

Each screened and qualified ASSA student arrives fully insured, brings personal spending money and expects to be included in normal family activities and lifestyles.
