Graduation season in full swing, students make honor roll, summer camp registration opens and more

Congratulations Azusa Pacific University graduates

Nolan DeHaven and Cameron Rose of Wilsonville were two of about 1,702 students to graduate from Azusa Pacific University Saturday, May 5.

Way to go University of Nebraska-Lincoln student

Aaron Gilbert of Wilsonville was one of about 3,200 students to graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after commencement celebrations May 4 and 5. Gilbert earned a bachelor's degree in forensic science from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Embrace your inner engineer

Students entering grades 4-6 can join the creative engineering summer camp at Meridian Creek Middle School this July. The camp will introduce students to different scientific concepts like mechanical energy, electricity, magnetism and more. Students will be able to explore multiple sources of power — motors, gravity and wind — to create and design machines. The camp is July 9-13 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. inside Meridian Creek's main gym. Registration is $155 and checks should be made payable to West Linn-Wilsonville School District.

Montana State University students make honor roll

Mary Roberts of Wilsonville was named to Montana State University's president's list, and Connor Hult and Annika Oetken of Wilsonville were named to the dean's list. To be eligible for the president's list, students must complete a minimum of 12 credits and receive a 4.0 GPA. To be named to the dean's list, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credits.

Host family opportunity for community

The ASSE International Student Exchange Program is looking for local families to host boys and girls between ages 15 and 18 from various countries — Norway, Denmark and Spain, to name a few. The exchange students have spending money for personal expenses and health, accident and liability insurance. Host families are able to choose their student from a variety of backgrounds, countries and personal interests.
