More than 1,000 people sat in the audience and watched the annual recital at Innovative Dance — a locally-owned business that targets students of all ages and dance abilities. Innovative Dance celebrated its 20th anniversary June 23, and the recital kicked off with the beloved "Dad's Dance," which incorporated dancers and their fathers. The instructors at Innovative Dance teach ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and more. The students are able to participate in competitions and workshops, including New York City Dance Alliance, Spot Light and Tremaine. The company also supports local events like the food bank and Art in the Park — a local Wilsonville event.
